My girlfriend and I popped into Banners on the off-chance while shopping in the area. Being early afternoon we had the lunch menu to feast our eyes on, and although not as extensive as the evening menu, it still provided plenty of choice depending on one's appetite. Not being overly hungry, we both opted for tomato & basil soup for starters (very nice and creamy); followed by Classic Cheeseburger and Sweet Potato Fries for myself, and the Steak & Ale pie with chunky chips and onion rings for my partner. The room was half-full, mostly consisting of office workers having light lunches and senior citizens enjoying tea and cakes. There is heating emanating from a large heater fitted to the ceiling. Given that it was a cold day the heater only benefits sitting directly underneath or a meter or two further out. If you choose one of the tables along the windows or walls you will be lucky to feel any benefit! Our dinners arrived after 15-20 minutes. All piping hot and a very good serving. My cheeseburger was really excellent - much better than those horrid cardboard efforts from the usual suspects. Of course there is always the question of etiquette eating a burger - do you hold it in your hands or use a knife and fork in the usual way/ Well i opted for the latter, and even though it was a bit fiddly the burger and the chips were gorgeous. My partner's pie was also well cooked, plenty of meat and gravy, and you could certainly taste the ale. the chunky chips and the mountain of onion rings topped it off!We didn't have room for dessert, but it was a delightful one hour break, and all for a reasonable 40 for 2. Good good, great service.

Great place, friendly staff, free WiFi, amazing cakes- what more could you want?

Fantastic service and attention to detail but slightly disappointed with the chicken wing starter bit overcooked couldn't eat them and two of our guests didn't like the taste/flavour of the Jerk chicken burger did not taste like Jamaican Jerk chicken.......Apart from that still recommend......I've been reassured by family that the breakfast and lunch menu are great. So hopefully on our next visit all will be well and we will enjoy the food.

Great food and great service. Definitely be back. 2 burgers for 15 deal was spot on. Both burgers were amazing...really tasty beef. Next time we'll ditch the car and make thw lost of the BYOB.

Wow. Finally got round to booking a table here for 7pm. What an absolute treat. The place feels really inviting and comfortable, the staff are happy and attentive and the food was amazing. Will definitely come back again.
