I booked a room for guests staying from abroad and other parts of the Uk. Reception poor, as not given any details about meals, restaurant booking, Gym etc. Just booked in and left to it ! Rooms were large, clean and comfortable. Generally staff were helpful, but when we went to dine at the restaurant were told not possible, as had to book, and had to have the set menu ! (The restaurant was completely empty)Directed to the bar/restaurant at the back, where a young make staff member did his best to help us, but the place was filthy, tables not cleared and plates and dirty serviettes everywhere. Also a family of children running all over the place shouting and playing with a large balloon without any regard for guests. Got up and left and went to Miller and Carter restaurant over the road where the service, cleanliness and food were excellent. This hotel did not leave a good impression on our guests. We have had guests stay here before successfully, but standard have definitely slipped and we are left very disappointed.
For the money excellent. Large clean room, bathroom clean but dated and bath panel hanging off. They allow dogs in some rooms, but our didn't smell of dog. Odd to hear a dog bark now and then. Breakfast good quality, can't say about restaurant as there was a 45 minute wait as a large party in.
A good budget hotel. Nothing posh here but the price reflects this. Awesome breakfast though. Please pay at the reception for breakfast when you check in as it costs 5.00 more at the restaurant.
Fantastic hotel, didn't really use the spa facilities as was there for a Christmas party. Excellent selection of drinks at the bar, food amazing and breakfast was lovely. The room itself was very clean and well presented and beds so comfy.
Very good for the price... Food was OK gym and spa were good. Bit run down but big room. The lights were wired a bit weird so you could have the bedside lamp and main light on without the other being on.. Staff very good
